The St. Vincent De Paul Society of Beaver County, PA (outside Pittsburgh) hosted the 12th annual Beaver County charity golf outing to support both the St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Maison Fortune Orphanage.  Rick Martin, Vice President and board member of the MFO Foundation attended the golf outing to represent the orphanage and Foundation, and to thank the sponsors and supporters of St. Vincent De Paul Society.

John Dudo and the golf committee put on a tremendous golf outing and the 82 participants had a great time even in the heat.  Many of the golfers participate every year.

The $75 entry fee included everything – golf, lunch, buffet after golf, shirt, gifts along with beer and other beverages.  The best golfers of the day posted a 15 under par.  Rick Martin said, “We hope to get invited back to Beaver County next year.  We may have to bring along some scratch golfers.”  Upon completion of the golfing, the golf committee hosted a gift auction to include signed footballs, including Steeler-autographed footballs, restaurant dinners, free hotel stays, sports equipment and lawn tools.  John Dudo was the auctioneer and did a tremendous job striking up interest and raking in the donations.

Special thanks has to go out to the event Silver Sponsors: Family Matters, Expressmed Pharmaceuticals, Progressive Home Health, Mother Teresa Hospice, BeeMac Trucking - Ambridge, and Rick Macklin.  There we many other sponsors, too many to mention, but special thanks goes out to all of the sponsors, supporters of the golf outing and the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Beaver County.  Specifically, we must thank, John Dudo, his son's, the Golf Committee and Rick Yarosz, the manager of the Holiday Inn who hosted Rick Martin in his hotel.

This year over $10,000 was raised of which $7500 came to the Maison Fortune' Orphanage Foundation. The rest will be used to help the poor and needy locally in Beaver County.  The golf tourney has no paid staff so all the proceeds go directly to those in need.

Jonathan (Dohanich) introduced John (Dudo) to Lefort Jean-Louis, the Haiti Orphanage Director, during one of Jean-Louis’ visits to the US.  John said, “it is a lot of work but I am glad to be able to help knowing that all the money will be put to good use and help better the lives and future of so many less fortunate children”.  John originally started the event and now he has a few dedicated volunteers helping him along with his three sons.  All help to make a big difference on the day of the outing.  The total amount of money raised over the years of this event is over $100,000.00 and it has benefited a number of charities.  Well done John and friends.
