Making a Difference in the Life of a Child.
Haitian Children

"Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, the poor and powerless, you do to me" (Mt. 25,40).

Spread the Word

One of the most important ways to help is to tell others the story about Lefort Jean Louis and the children at Maison Fortune Orphanage.  You would be amazed at the impact this can have.  Across the country, we are developing pockets of financial support because someone has been telling the Orphanage story in that area.  From a humble beginning of taking in four children into his own home, to renting space in two small buildings from the Bishop of Hinche, convincing people in the Hampton Roads area of Southern Virginia to form a Foundation to raise money to buy land for an orphanage, building a school on-site, taking in 250 children, and buying the land to begin building a trade school across the street, the story is compelling and growing.

The orphanage is an economic engine for the local economy as it employs 50 staff as teachers, custodians, caregivers, and administrators.  The craftsmen of the area are the ones hired to make repairs and improvements.  The first resident to graduate from high school is in the US studying at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.  And all this while keeping overhead and fund raising expenses to less than 3% of all the donated money.  The story is dynamic and resonates with people because of the impact it is making on the residents and the number of volunteers involved.  Isn’t that a story worth telling to others?  And it costs you nothing to do so!

Please help us spread the word of the good work being done for others in Haiti.  As others hear, they might be inclined to help in some of the other ways that also make a difference.
